Before it was re-designated as an exhibition space, this used to be the Pine Garden’s famous ballroom. Once or twice each year, the Military Assistance Advisory Group would stay a night at the Pine Garden en-route to Taroko and it would host a party. Once news of a party broke out, children in the neighborhood would quickly spread the word because it wasn’t often they got the chance to savor foreign delicacies and the American army would also give each kid a coin in a red packet as gift. Currently, the first floor and second floor are designated for exhibition purpose, and quality exhibitions relating to art and creativity are held from time to time.

Long ago, there used to be a winding blue boardwalk connecting to the gift shop but it was torn down to facilitate visitors’ movement in the garden. You can still see traces of the boardwalk from the existing canopy. For instance, the height of the canopy and supporting columns were re-constructed based on their original positions.
